What Sets Us apart

Sedation Option
At The Cat palace, we try to avoid using a general anaesthetic when grooming your cat. We can, if needed, offer a mild sedation to help ease your cat through the appointment. This calms the cat down without the risks general anaesthetics bring, and means your cat recovers quickly, and will be back to full perkiness (or grumpyness!) in no time. In all cases, Dr. Kim is on site to administer sedation when required.

Arthritis Check
Did you know that, by the age of 7, many cats already have early signs of arthritis? By the age of 10, around 90% will show signs in an x-ray. The problem is that your cat, like all cats, is a master at hiding pain. What we often just put down to “old age” might actually be be much more serious. With every grooming appointment, we will perform an arthritis check, and let you know if we feel further action may be needed.

Dental Check
When cats caught all their own food, their teeth were kept healthy by the natural cleaning action of chewing bones. Now, with diets of soft food, or even kibble, the cleaning needs process can be greatly reduced. Tartar builds up quickly and, if not addressed promptly, will almost certainly lead to tooth loss. We will check your cats teeth as part of the grooming appointment, to make sure there are no problems.

A Fat Cat is a Happy cat
Or so the saying goes. The problem is that, if your cat is overweight, carrying the extra bulk can lead to other issues with joints, and cause grooming difficulties. That doesn’t necessarily mean that, if your cat is a little tubby, it’s an immediate problem. Cats, like people, come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. As part of your cat grooming appointment, we’ll check to see where your cat’s body condition sits on the Cat Body Scale (yes, there is such a thing!), and provide advice on what you can do.
How Else Can Dr Kim Help?
